Ministry Update

March

This past month has been filled with such wonderful visits to churches and events. I’ve gotten to meet and minister with some beautiful people. It is beautiful how we can feel love for those we have only just met. I think the connection could be the Holy Spirit that is within us, allowing us to feel closeness with others like we never could before knowing Christ for ourselves.

Restoring Hope Women's Conference

This was the 6th year that we have led worship for this incredible outreach in Madisonville, Ky. This event is organized and put on by several churches in the area. There were five who prayed for salvation, and so many that rededicated and were moved to pray to be closer in their relationship with the Lord. So many come every year, and even though that day there were storms. Even through the wind and the rain, these ladies weren’t letting anything get between them and getting to the throne!

Women's Conference "Walking Through Seasons of Life"

For the first-ever women’s conference to be hosted at the beautiful Clarkson Baptist Church, it was a hit! Friday night and all day Saturday, the sanctuary was filled with women who came out to share in worship together. The classrooms overflowed during the breakout sessions, where we learned more about navigating the seasons of our lives with faith as our guide and foundation. We shared a wonderful lunch and a full day of fellowship and worship. I pray they continue to host events like this in our area. As women, it is so important to come together and love one another. The enemy must know how powerful it is when women work together in agreement, which is why we must overcome past offenses and hurts to be the church as one. I’m blessed with women in my life who will pray for me, be there for me, and allow me to do the same. Friendship is such a gift. Thank you to Sheila Witten for joining on piano and Michele Blair for backup/harmony and guitar. It was a joy to worship with you!

Meadow Land

I was blessed to lead worship for Meadow Land’s Sunday morning service twice within a month. There are so many incredible people of God who pour their hearts into the ministry there. They have a food bank, Manna House, that has just gotten a huge upgrade with a new building in place and ready to serve their community’s needs. They have strong Women’s and Men’s ministries that hold events throughout the year and consistent studies. I’m so thankful to have the chance to be there with them. God is moving in great ways there at Meadow Land. If you are in the area of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and in need of a church family, they are a great one!

Community Church at Cedar Springs

We had a time of worship that was a celebration! There are so many souls there that know how to raise their hands, hearts, and voices to honor the King of Kings that we sing about and that we sing to! He is worthy of our praise! I was invited to fill in for worship while their regular praise leader, Chastity Salzman, volunteered for a Christian Women’s Retreat (Tres Diaz) that weekend. It was so blessed to be with the people there, and the sermon by Pastor Charles McCutchen Jr. was spot on! If you are in the area of Brownsville, Kentucky, I encourage you to go and worship there. It was a blessing.

Celebrate Recovery at Restorations Church

I was invited to share in testimony and worship. They have a wonderful group there in Hardinsburg, Kentucky. We cried together and prayed together. It was a beautiful night, and God was clearly working on the hearts there at Restorations Church. Celebrate Recovery was instrumental in helping me get over some things and work through so many issues that I was struggling with when I first started walking with the Lord. Surrender is such a beautiful place to be, and I pray I can stay in a constant state of surrender to the One who paid it all for us to know freedom. You don’t have to be an addict to benefit from the scripture-based program that helps us take a personal and spiritual inventory and account of what we have faced in life.

New Horizon Church

Tom and Teresa Wilson are terrific leaders and friends. I love partnering in ministry with them and their family of believers there at New Horizon. They have purchased land and have the blueprints ready to build a new worship center, and I am so excited for this new chapter. When the Methodist Church split, they were on the side that stood by the Word of God. In their faithfulness, they are being blessed, and God is opening doors and breaking ground for the work they do in Leitchfield, Kentucky.

Thank you to Box 2 Radio for playing my music and for inviting me to share my heart. I love Aaron and Hannah, and getting to talk about our faith together. Sharing openly to whatever ears happen to meet that frequency. Christian radio is a powerful tool to reach souls for the Kingdom of God. I pray God continues to bless the efforts there and continues growing the ministry to reach more and more with the truth in God’s Word.

Les N. Downs

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this ministry that God has called me into. I am humbled and honored. I’m looking forward to worshipping with you again.   God is on the Move!
